Description

Letter from Vanessa Bell, Charleston, Firle, East Sussex, to Duncan Grant. She describes the 'pandemonium' created by her Christmas guests - Roger Fry fretting about his affair with Helen Anrep, her husband Boris having threatened to 'murder' him; Virginia Woolf and her relationship with Vita Sackville-West; as well as leaks in various rooms. Creatively, Bell is concentrating on design, especially for carpets. Also mentions Albert, Anastasia 'Baba' Anrep, Judith Bagenal, John Banting, Angelica, Julian and Clive Bell, Louie Dunnet, Marjery Fry, Grace Germany, Ethel Grant, Edward McKnight Kauffer, John Maynard Keynes and Lydia Lopokova, Rupert Lee, Frank Hindley Smith, Mrs Standen, Stephen Tomlin, and Leonard Woolf.
