Description
On the reverse of the painting is the inscription, 'Pierre Adolphe Valette Novembre 1912 Manchester'. There is a label on the reverse of the backboard with the address for Tib Lane Gallery, Manchester, and an inscription guaranteeing it to be an original work by Valette and noting the date. A separate label on the backboard has the inscription, 'He taught L.S. Lowry drawing & painting at the Manchester College of Art' and the frame also includes the inscription, 'Collection Rev. G S Bennett'.
