Description
This photograph by Marc Vaux is a version of a known one, published, for example, in Alan Wilkinson, Vol. 1 (p.6). Lipchitz is standing in his apron, but without a hat (as in Wilkinson). Some sculptures are identifiable, which can help more exact dating. There is 'Seated Man with Guitar' (1918) and 'Still Life' (1918) and also 'Bather', which bronze version is usualy dated 1923-5, which is not identifiable in the photograph published by Alan Wilkinson's catalogue raisonne.
