Forty eight notebooks and sketchbooks written and created by Donald Rodney, and the personal archives of the artist

Items from this collection that have been digitised comprise forty-eight sketchbooks used by Donald Rodney from 1982 until his death in 1998. The sketchbooks played an integral role in his art and contain a mixture of preliminary studies for new artworks, records of past exhibitions and various writings. His drawings and writings bring together diverse personal, cultural, social and political influence.

The notebooks/sketchbooks were purchased from Diane Symons, on behalf of the Executors of the Estate of Donald Rodney with the remaining archives donated by the Executors, July 2003.
