The papers of Walter Sickert

[1887–1945]

Available to view online are drawings and illustrations produced by Walter Sickert from 1911 and about 1920. These drawings mainly depict streets, music halls, circuses, bucolic scenes and landscapes of the Envermeu and the Dieppe area, France. Several have been squared up for transfer to canvas and some relate to finished paintings of the period. Further material from this collection can be searched on the online archive catalogue, including correspondence, family photographs and drawings by Christine Angus and Thérèse Lessore, kept by Walter Sickert.

62 drawings and 2 reproduction lithographic prints from periodicals, produced between 1911 and about 1920. They were mainly drawn in Envermeu and the Dieppe area, France, and show street scenes, music halls, circuses, bucolic scenes and landscapes. Several have been squared up for transfer to canvas and some relate to finished paintings of the period.
