Peter Blake emerged as a leader of the pop art movement in the 1960s, and in this film the artist reminds us that he was working with comic book imagery before Roy Lichtenstein and created sculptures of consumer products before Andy Warhol. His connection to collage extends to his working environment where his collection of objects and curiosities, or the ‘art of collecting’ as he puts it, is an conceptual art form in itself.
