The Eye and the Ear is the last film by the Themersons. The aim here is to translate sound into image. The film has four parts based on four songs by the Polish composer, Karol Szymanowski to Julian Tuwim’s poem cycle Słopiewnie. Each of the songs results in different sorts of imagery, from geometric forms to patterns of leaves and expanding and contracting waves.
