Exh. R.A., 1966 (56) as ‘Abstract Composition’.
The artist’s wife wrote (27 March 1967) that although her husband remembered this work well, it was one of the very few paintings he could not trace in his considerable records. She added: ‘As for the title, it was most likely to have been either “Abstract” or “Composition” – not the two together. Preferably “Composition”.’
