Catalogue entry

Continued from folio 61 (D13688; CLXVII 58), this sketch shows a distant view of Edinburgh from the north-west, perhaps near Cramond (where Turner sketched Lauriston Castle in the Edinburgh, 1818 sketchbook, Tate D13568; Turner Bequest CLXVI 61a). At the right of the page is the tower of Nelson’s Monument on top of Calton Hill in the east of the city.
There is a sooty mark at the bottom left of the page.
