Catalogue entry

Gylen Castle is seen here from the south-east. In his examination of the castle from each side, Turner traversed the rocky promontory at the south-east of the island of Kerrera and sketched the ruins from across the bay of Port a’ Chroinn. This is either the first or the last sketch in a sequence of views from that promontory which continues on folios 68–72 (D26874–D26882).
