Inspired by the process of filmmaking, you’re invited to bring memories alive through making and conversation, tell a story together, and create short films using backdrops and props from Tate’s collection.
Where does a family’s story live?
Devised by Tate Britain’s Early Years and Families team and interdisciplinary artist Anita Safowaa. Graphics by Tate Design. Facilitated by Tate’s Family Engagement Assistants in response to Zineb Sedira’s Duveen galleries’ commission ‘When the world falls silent, cinema speaks’.
Anita Safowaa is an interdisciplinary artist who builds storytelling environments through film, installation and participatory work. Her practice explores memory and transformation, challenging dominant historical narratives by centering lived experience and collective voice. She creates immersive, sensorial spaces that spark reflection, encourage conversation and shift perspectives.
