Tate Modern presents a new culinary collaboration with internationally acclaimed chef Santiago Lastra, founder of the Michelin-starred restaurant KOL.
Created in response to Frida: The Making of an Icon, this limited-time menu explores Frida Kahlo’s world through colour, flavour and storytelling. Each course reflects a different chapter of her life from identity and home to love, tradition and a celebration of life.
Available for a limited time at the Tate Modern Restaurant, the menu is served daily at lunchtime and on Friday and Saturday evenings. Advance booking is strongly recommended.

Menu
A three-course menu inspired by Frida Kahlo’s life, relationships and artistic world.
‘La Casa Azul – Heritage Tomatoes Ceviche Tostada’
A playful, interactive opening course inspired by Frida’s iconic home. Guests paint their own tostadas with a vivid blue salsa, which transforms from blue to pink with a squeeze of lemon — creating an edible artwork that reflects her spirit of creativity and individuality.
‘Frida’s Mole – Short Rib Tamal’
Centred on mole poblano, one of Mexico’s most important and symbolic dishes. Paired with slow-braised short rib and wrapped in a delicate tamal, this course draws on time-honoured indigenous techniques and reflects the complexity of Frida’s relationship with Diego Rivera.
‘Viva la Vida – Buñuelos & Watermelon’
A vibrant final course inspired by Kahlo’s last painting. Crisp buñuelos are paired with a multi-layered ice cream evoking the taste of watermelon, celebrating vitality, resilience and joy.
