Xanadu By Day

Explore the potential of dreams in this interactive installation

Kick back and immerse yourself in this interactive installation created by Maribut/Baum, Amanda Baum Olesen and Heidi Maribut.

In this social sculpture you are invited to experience and reflect on the value of dreaming. Entering into an otherworldly atmosphere under a parachute, you can explore states of hypnogogia (the oncoming of sleep) and hypnopompia (the state immediately before waking up).

In Hypnogogia Mountain you can immerse yourself in a landscape of plants and people, and see yourself as part of this visual mirage in a live-projection.

In the Hypnopompia Lake you can weave together dreams in a collective collage live-projected onto the space. Make and re-make by combining cut-outs of dream symbolic imagery, and watch as the changing shapes and colours animate both inside and outside of the installation.
