Transform Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall into a playscape of funnels, spheres, and tubes this half-term.
Designed by artist India Harvey, experiment with different shapes, textures and sounds to see what you can create.
Make an obstacle course for objects to roll down in unexpected twists and turns. Plus, watch India’s short film ALL THE FEELINGS for ideas to keep playing and exploring objects at home.
We have dedicated Relaxed Hours for this event; however, the Clore Studio will be available every day for smaller groups and is designed for people who prefer a more relaxed experience.
In partnership with the Schools and Teachers team, this May we will be showcasing video artwork ALL THE FEELINGS made by artist India Harvey in collaboration with students and teachers at Ickburgh School.
This playful, tactile and sensory experience film is for children and their adults, designed to see playful and sensory opportunities everywhere by building confidence with material exploration and noticing what’s going on around you.
ALL THE FEELINGS is part of our IMMERSION series of Tate Schools resources developed using a SEND-first approach. This approach is about making innovative digital resources that work for all students but that have inclusion and inclusive practice at their core. All resources in this series are developed in conversation with SEND teachers and in collaboration with young sensory learners with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities). IMMERSION is designed as an evolving series, with a new artist commission and film introduced every two years, ensuring fresh perspectives continue to shape how art is experienced in the classroom.
India Harvey is an artist and researcher whose work explores the possibilities of having multiple, distinct & complex relationships with the textures of our lived environments; how these relationships express themselves and how we may be able to relate to others through shared exposure to unusual materiality. This investigation into the experiential margins promoting new kinds of value systems of expertise and intelligence, attempting to consider 'difference' as a positive universal.
