UNIQLO Tate Play Rasheed Araeen, Zero To Infinity Relaxed Hours

Every Tuesday
25 July – 22 August 2023

Participate in Rasheed Araeen’s endlessly changing sculpture

This summer, Zero to Infinity will transform our Turbine Hall and you are invited to take part. What started as 400 cubes set out in a square is now an ever-changing structure.

Instead of looking at the sculpture, Araeen invites you to take it apart and make something new. Touch, move, shift, stack and balance the cubes, exploring ideas of symmetry, shape, and geometry.

Up on the bridge, take part in a range of family-friendly activities inspired by Zero to Infinity and learn more about the artist. Get creative and explore topics like symmetry, geometry and infinity. Through playing, handling, adding, and taking away, see these ideas take form.

This session is primarily for neurodivergent children and adults, and any other visitors with sensory needs who prefer a more relaxed experience, plus their families, friends and carers. Those who are looking for a playful-yet-still-relaxing hour to start the day can visit the space – just with smaller groups so we can support any additional needs you might have.

Resources will be available on the day including:

  • Access Station
  • Reduced music
  • Ear defenders
  • A quiet breakout space
  • Slightly limited admissions so fewer people in the space

Tate staff will be aware that this is an access hour and will take that into consideration as they look after you and the artwork.

All Tate Modern entrances are step-free. You can enter via the Turbine Hall and into the Natalie Bell Building on Holland Street, or into the Blavatnik Building on Sumner street.

There are lifts to every floor of the Blavatnik and Nathalie Bell buildings. Alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Fully accessible toilets are located on every floor on the concourses.
  • A quiet room is available to use in the Natalie Bell Building on Level 4.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the Ticket desks.

To help plan your visit to Tate Modern, have a look at our visual story. It includes photographs and information about what you can expect from a visit to the gallery.
