Come and join us as we celebrate the 5th anniversary of our new gallery

Spend your weekend with us and discover 100 years of artworks, new installations and exhibitions, workshops, talks and family fun activities. Alongside our programme you can browse the Shop and enjoy refreshments from the Café bar and terrace throughout the weekend.

Saturday 15 October

Burçak Bingöl in conversation

Location: Foyle Studio
Time: 12.00—13.00

Join artist Burçak Bingöl in conversation with Tate St Ives Director, Anne Barlow to discuss her new exhibition Minor Vibrations on Earth.

Feminist School of Painting Workshop

Location: Gallery 6
Time: 13.30—15.30

Queer Kernow will be running a Feminist School of Painting workshop with artist Elliot Kenton, exploring concepts of the queer aesthetics movement.

Vocal Presence

Time: 16.00

Vocal Presence is an LGBTQ+ choir. Their mission is to provide musical experience where it is safe to do so. Choir members are encouraged to be their true selves, singing within their natural range and learning to extend this when desired, whatever their gender presentation. Members do not need to be able to read music or have any singing experience to join - a love of music is all that is required.

Sunday 16 October

Family Fun

Time: 10.00—13.00

Make your own birthday themed light up badge and party streamer, become an art explorer with your special birthday passport, design and make a Zine and enjoy storytelling throughout the morning.

Tate Collective Takeover

Time: 13.30—16.00

Young people takeover Tate St Ives with workshops, performances and music produced by our Tate Collective Producers group. Relax and get cosy at our PJ Party themed takeover inspired by Ad Minoliti: Biosfera Peluche / Biosphere Plush.

Move and Draw

Look out for our living sculptures as performers bring the artwork to life. Capture movement and sound in our playful, live drawing exercises.

DJ Set by DJ Good Doggy

Location: Gallery 6

Kate Merry (DJ Good Doggy) is a DJ with over a decade's experience playing venues across the UK. She has an encyclopaedic knowledge of just about every genre and band that has existed since 1900 and a particular penchant for 80s and 90s RnB and dancehall riddims. Hang out and enjoy the art and music in Gallery 6.

Squish and Snooze

Location: Foyle Studio

Join us in the Foyle studio, our cosy, creative chill-out space and create your own sleep-mask to take home. Content is aimed at those aged 15-25, but everyone is welcome.

If you are aged 15-25 and you’d like to be part of the Tate Collective Producer team and help design and run the birthday event you can find out more in our Producer Sessions.

Tate St Ives is located on Porthmeor Beach. There is a ramp up to the gallery entrance alongside stairs with a handrail.

There are lifts to all Levels of the gallery, or alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Accessible and standard toilets are on Level 3, next to Gallery 6.
  • A Changing Places toilet is on Level 3, next to Gallery 1.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the information desk.
