Explore Tate Britain's collection to think about little details of care and solidarity

The Tate Collective Producers, along with artist and writer Jessie McLaughlin, invite you to join us in exploring the Tate Britain collection. Where we will ask you to think about showing care, extending solidarity out to others and creating community.

Spend a day with MISERY founder, writer and artist Aisha Mirza and Black Fly Zine founder and artist Ella Justine Frost.

The day will include practical workshops, talks and shared conversation.

Lunch is provided. No skills or prior knowledge are required.

Exclusively for Tate Collective. 16–25? Sign up and log in to book

Aisha Mirza

Aisha Mirza is a writer, DJ, artist & trauma-informed Indian head masseuse. Aisha is the creator of MISERY (@miseryparty) a mental health collective & sober club night for queer & trans people of colour. Aisha also has a monthly queer advice column at gal-dem & have written about mental health, sex, race & gender for The Guardian, Vice, Cosmopolitan, them, BuzzFeed, The New York Times and others. Jessie Mclaughlin

Jessie Mclaughlin is a curator, researcher, writer, artist (and wannabe boxer). They work from a queer, brown (sometimes sad) perspective. Foregrounding emotional experiences and proposing these as valid methods of research. They have presented their practice (often social or collaborative in form) at a number of institutions including Tate, Whitechapel gallery, the Wellcome Collection, Moderna Museet Stockholm, and the National Gallery. They were born and raised in North London.

Tate Britain's step-free entrance is on Atterbury Street. It has automatic sliding doors and there is a ramp down to the entrance with central handrails.

There is a lift between the Lower and Main floors. Alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Accessible and standard toilets are located on the Lower floor.
  • A Changing Places toilet is not currently available.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the ticket desk on the Lower floor.

To help plan your visit to Tate Britain, have a look at our visual story. It includes photographs and information about what you can expect from a visit to the gallery.
