Come and discover the unknown, inspired by joyful artworks in Tate’s collection

This half-term, the East Tank at Tate Modern is transformed into an enchanting space where art and nature come together in wonderfully surprising ways. Build secret dens to hide away in, leave your mark on ever-changing projections of wild, natural environments, or craft delightfully quirky costumes from recycled treasures.

For under 5s

For our littlest explorers, there’s cozy corners filled with themed storybooks and magical viewfinders, perfect for tiny hands and curious eyes. Take part in hands-on activities, see the world through a new perspective or snuggle up and get lost in an extraordinary story!

About Relaxed Hours

This session is primarily for neurodivergent children and adults, and any other visitors with sensory needs who prefer a more relaxed experience, plus their families, friends and carers. Those who are looking for a playful-yet-still-relaxing hour to start the day can visit the space – just with smaller groups so we can support any additional needs you might have.

Resources will be available on the day including:

  • Access Station
  • Ear defenders
  • A quiet breakout space
  • Fewer people in the space and smaller groups

Tate staff will be aware that this is an access hour and will take that into consideration as they look after you and the artwork.
